Philosophy, not therapy
What Would Stoics Do offers reflections from Stoic philosophy. It is not medical, psychological, legal or financial advice, and it is not a crisis service. If you are in danger or thinking about harming yourself, contact one of these free, confidential services or your local emergency number now.
Quotes and AI commentary
Quotations are verbatim from public-domain and openly licensed translations, with full citations on our sources page. Everything labelled “AI interpretation” is written by AI and can be wrong, incomplete or a poor fit for your situation. Use your own judgement, and read passages in context before relying on them.
Fair use
Please use the site in good faith. Don’t:
- use it to harass, threaten or harm anyone;
- automate, script or bulk-send questions, or try to get around the daily limit;
- overload the service or probe its security;
- present AI commentary as the words of a Stoic.
